at any time should circumstances dictate that course.

You will observe that there is a considerable

proportion of five cent pieces in the list, but these coins are

now becoming very popular among the Chinese.

As regards copper coins we advise that the re-

sult of the shipment of $10,000 expected to arrive by next

English Mail be awaited before taking further steps.

I have to add that, should His Excellency ap-

prove of the accompanying programme, the first two or three

items should be at once ordered by telegraph, full details of

the scheme being given by letter which should also be sent as

early as possible.
